Middle School Summer Reading Requirements

MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER READING, 2023

This summer, your Middle School teachers encourage you to read

as much as possible!

Rising Grade 5 and Rising Grade 6 students should read the following for the start of school:

1. Middle School Community Read: Turtle in Paradise by Jennifer Holm

2. Middle School Choice Read: Read one book from the list below which we will discuss as a community in the fall.

3. Free Choice Read: Please read at least one book of your choosing.  We recommend using the Blue Tabs above for new releases and book suggestions. You can also take advantage of SORA and your Public Library Summer Reading Programs, where books, audiobooks and e-books are available for free.  Make a note of the titles you read so you can share them with peers and teachers in September.

4. Optional Summer Reading BINGO: If you want to be a part of the Summer Reading Raffle in September, complete a Summer Reading BINGO Board.  Get BINGO by completing a row on the board horizontally, vertically or diagonally. (You will need to hand in the filled in board.)
